Birdpaula絕對是一把非常有感動力的懾人歌聲，就好像一頭會唱歌小鳥一般令人陶醉。曾經(jīng)在choirs主唱，也在blues clubs演唱過。 母親是位舞臺劇、電影演員，父親是位爵士、藍調(diào)樂手，充滿藝術(shù)氣質(zhì)的家庭背景，Birdpaula 踏上音樂創(chuàng)作的路，似乎來得理所當(dāng)然。年青時曾經(jīng)研習(xí)聲樂、結(jié)他，后來在八十年代的俱樂部駐場演唱，及跟爵士鋼琴手Jeff Gardner等樂手合作，讓Birdpaula 對音樂創(chuàng)作早已不陌生?？墒?，一直到了近年才讓她重投音樂唱作。為她兒子的樂隊Jackson and His Computer Band(Warp)的專輯獻聲，深深吸引了Nouvelle Vague的監(jiān)制之一Marc Collin，Marc Collin其后邀請她在NV的專輯Bande A Part中演繹Pride(In The Name Of Love)一曲。 在Marc Collin監(jiān)制的首張專輯中，Nouvelle Vague一派舒緩浪漫的氣息，貫穿整張專輯，Birdpaula揉合藍調(diào)、輕爵士的民謠風(fēng)格，其氣質(zhì)讓人聯(lián)想起Julie Delpy，同樣來得美麗清新。
