1859年，一顆隕石墜落在格陵蘭，掀起的冰雪覆蓋了茫茫大地……時間回到當(dāng)代，一名因紐特男孩以賽亞墜樓身亡，他的鄰居——冰原學(xué)者史米拉（Julia Ormond 飾）發(fā)現(xiàn)現(xiàn)場疑點重重，更為重要的是，史米拉清楚有恐高癥的以賽亞不會去房頂玩耍。史米拉為了不辜負她和以賽亞的友情，決意將真相調(diào)查到底。以賽亞的父親生前為格陵蘭礦業(yè)公司雇傭，結(jié)果不幸死于野外事故，同時陪同父親工作但幸免于難的以賽亞開始定期接受丹麥頂尖醫(yī)生的體檢，而醫(yī)生背后則是礦業(yè)公司總裁。各種神秘人物不斷阻擾史米拉的調(diào)查，同一棟樓內(nèi)的失語癥機械師站到了史米拉身邊予以保護讓調(diào)查得以繼續(xù)。從一系列謀殺與陷害事件中逃離后，史米拉終于發(fā)現(xiàn)一切都源于那顆隕石……
