1982年，來自意大利的爭(zhēng)議導(dǎo)演威爾森•韋勒•科凱恩發(fā)行了他唯一的作品《紅色之山》。電影因?yàn)榇嬖谠S多殘酷虐待的鏡頭而很快撤線，所有的拷貝從此消失，導(dǎo)演及劇組人員也杳無音訊。許多年間，全球各地的電影歷史學(xué)家嘗試找出這部傳奇作品，但是現(xiàn)存于世的只有一部殘忍的預(yù)告片。

　　20年后，超級(jí)影迷泰勒（泰德•希爾根布林克 Tad Hilgenbrink 飾）對(duì)傳說中的《紅色之山》甚為著迷，他千方百計(jì)尋找關(guān)于這部影片的一切線索，當(dāng)他得知科凱恩唯一的女兒艾麗莎（蘇菲•芒克 Sophie Monk 飾）就住在附近時(shí)，于是決定啟程前往一探究竟。此時(shí)的艾麗莎已成為脫衣舞女，他絲毫不理會(huì)泰勒的請(qǐng)求。執(zhí)著近乎瘋狂的泰勒為了拍攝關(guān)于《紅色之山》的記錄片，不惜對(duì)艾麗莎進(jìn)行綁架。他的努力得到回報(bào)，卻也由此開啟一扇通往恐怖地獄的大門……
