Miles Of Skyline

            An Asheville-based folk-rock band led by a trio of singer-songwriters, Uncle Mountain’s sound seems designed to fill the idiosyncratic folk-rock band slot on movie soundtracks. That’s far more of a compliment than a diss; the lilting harmonies and adventurous arrangements recall accomplished, similar-minded acts like Guster and Dispatch. Basically, Uncle Mountain makes the kind of music that you could see appealing equally to the jam-rock crowd as to the more open-minded indie-rock fans.  　　…Each song in Uncle Mountain’s set is a marriage of vision and spontaneous collaboration. Three distinct songwriters with their own styles steer tunes in different directions until they’ve reach a destination, often one that they had never…  　　…expected. The result is one that they are proud of both in headphones and on stage, blending the organic soul of rock and folk with the lively percussion, rich harmonies and colorful textures from all of their favorite music from around the globe.
