New Blood

音樂(lè)鬼才Peter Gabriel定于10月10日發(fā)行繼去年的翻唱專(zhuān)輯《Scratch My Back》之后的最新作品《New Blood》，這張唱片中的全部12首歌都是對(duì)Gabriel早前經(jīng)典曲目的再造——吉他、貝司和鼓退居其次，而Gabriel組建的46人New Blood Orchestra則來(lái)到前臺(tái)。此外，Gabriel這次的合作伙伴還包括音樂(lè)人John Metcalfe和Ben Foster。   彼得蓋布瑞爾（Peter Gabriel），不但是樂(lè)團(tuán)主唱，而鍵盤(pán)、敲擊樂(lè)、直笛、以及合成樂(lè)器都是拿手絕活。 Peter Gabriel是1970年代紅極一時(shí)的搖滾樂(lè)團(tuán)「創(chuàng)世紀(jì)」（Genesis）的團(tuán)長(zhǎng)，鼎鼎大名的搖滾樂(lè)巨星Phil Collins則是樂(lè)團(tuán)的鼓手。就搖滾樂(lè)的領(lǐng)域而言，創(chuàng)世紀(jì)樂(lè)團(tuán)讓所謂的「激進(jìn)搖滾樂(lè)」（Progressive Rock）成為更華麗、更具戲劇性的樂(lè)風(fēng)。   在當(dāng)代的搖滾音樂(lè)史上，Peter Gabriel可說(shuō)是一位極為特立獨(dú)行的藝人，他從早期的非主流前衛(wèi)曲風(fēng)，發(fā)展到後來(lái)成為一位流行音樂(lè)巨星，最後更成為一位世界音樂(lè)的愛(ài)好者，其創(chuàng)作歷程的變遷與發(fā)展可說(shuō)是精彩紛呈   New Blood is the forthcoming ninth studio album by British rock musician Peter Gabriel, to be released on October 10, 2011. The album will consist of orchestral re-recordings of various tracks from throughout Gabriel's career. The album is going to be a continuation of the project Gabriel began with his previous album Scratch My Back, which was orchestral covers of other artists' songs. The idea for the album came about after work was done re-arranging Gabriel's songs for orchestra for the second half of shows during the New Blood Tour (2010.) For this album Gabriel will continue to work with arranger John Metcalfe. The album was announced by Gabriel himself during the October update of his Full Moon Club and was preceded by the release of a new orchestral version of the song "Washing Of The Water" along with a cover of The Magnetic Fields song "The Book Of Love" as a double a-side single.
