Courtney Jaye

出生美國賓州的Courtney，求學(xué)時(shí)期受到嬉皮年代所釋放出的獨(dú)特魅力驅(qū)使，對於音樂的文化影響力，開始有著濃厚興趣，發(fā)現(xiàn)從音樂中可以全然感受無拘束的自由感，直到遭受身邊摯友過世的打擊，讓她認(rèn)真面對創(chuàng)作音樂之課題，藉由實(shí)際創(chuàng)作發(fā)表，換化內(nèi)心喜怒哀樂多樣情緒。Courtney畢業(yè)后，決定展開旅行生涯，一方面感受各地域音樂民情文化，一方面詳細(xì)寫下當(dāng)時(shí)心境轉(zhuǎn)變，為自己的音樂世界畫出更為多彩的鮮亮色調(diào)。喜愛沖浪的她，不時(shí)享受陽光、海浪的洗禮，更在每一個(gè)待上不久的地方，留下一道道深刻足跡。Courtney曾經(jīng)瘋狂著迷於地下獨(dú)立搖滾才女Ani DiFranco毫不跟主流大廠妥協(xié)、自由隨性發(fā)表音樂創(chuàng)作專輯、完全灑脫的酷派性格，然而最具個(gè)人特色的外貌造型也讓Courtney與之效法，將她一頭亮麗長發(fā)剃成光頭，這時(shí)她也慢慢驚覺到，若是沒辦法誠實(shí)做自己，只是跟隨別人的影子走，永遠(yuǎn)不會加寬自己的格局，走出屬于自己的味道。 　　 藉由工作伙伴Gal Asher的鼓勵(lì)，Courtney的創(chuàng)作歌曲受到主流大廠喜愛，集結(jié)多年來旅游心情寫照，創(chuàng)作出這張?zhí)幣恪綯ravling Light】。首支主打呈現(xiàn)如Sheryl Crow的"Soak Up The Sun"輕松自若曲調(diào)，踩著快意步伐挺進(jìn)排行各榜，引發(fā)樂迷高度詢問度之先攻之作"Can’t Behave"；微微涼意的吉他聲線，不斷藉由"Mental"頗具起伏之情緒，蔓延出一股輕易動容的聲音共鳴；與同樣是創(chuàng)作才女并且擁有個(gè)人專輯的Michelle Lewis共譜之同名單曲"Traveling Light"，些許鄉(xiāng)村聲韻搭配Courtney甜而不膩的嗓音，調(diào)和出毫無壓力的音樂觸感；"Hanalei Road"則驚喜邀來藍(lán)調(diào)樂派之傳奇性人物Taj Mahal 獻(xiàn)聲合唱；推薦曲目"Can You Sleep"與"Love Me"，則請出新生代創(chuàng)作才子Butch Walker及鄉(xiāng)村界亮眼才女 Tift Merritt助陣搭唱。 Singer/songwriter Courtney Jaye was born in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to Atlanta during her formative high school years and after a friend's untimely death began writing songs. She traveled extensively after graduating, spending her days in Flagstaff, AZ, as an acupuncturist and playing in a band at night. She then found herself on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where she developed an affinity for the region's fluid rhythms and laid-back atmosphere. It wasn't until Jaye reached the musical capitol of Georgia that she truly hit her stride. Athens provided the young artist with her first love and a vibrant music scene. The couple relocated to Austin, TX, where they went their separate ways, leaving Jaye with a bottomless well of emotions to write from. Courtney was signed on the spot after a mutual friend managed to set up a meeting for her to play some of her songs for A&R executives at Island Def Jam Music Group. The results can be heard on 2005's Traveling Light.
